I was hoping to post my ohhs and ahhs about the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibit after seeing it first hand, but that will not happen until its final weekend. Since the exhibit comes to a close in one month from today (open through August 7, 2011) I thought I’d better remind you all to start planning your own trip to the tribute of the late, great designer.
For those of you already in NYC, you have no excuse not to find time to attend this extreme fashion experience. For those of you in my neck of the woods located in the DC Metro area, it is easy to take a day or weekend trip to the big apple with any of the many bus lines that will get you there fast and affordably (I prefer Bolt only because I have used often with no issues).
If you are not able to be in NYC to visit McQueen’s creations in person, you can still see and even own the exhibit. The Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty book can be bought via Amazon for approximately $30 new.
This beautiful nightmare (in the words of Beyoncé) is not something you want to miss. McQueen and his designs will be remembered for the major mark they left on the fashion world and I am honored to share the same space as these amazing works of art. I will share the many thoughts, both fashion and otherwise, that I guarantee will overwhelm me following my McQueen encounter.

East Coast Chic (ECC) began as a fashion blog in 2010. I created ECC because the diversity of style on the East Coast is inspirational and endless. ECC allows me to share my favorite fashion thoughts and spots from my headquarters in Washington, DC, as well as other trend setting states along the East Coast and beyond.
