We’ve all heard the news. The earth’s position to the sun has changed and so has your zodiac sign. I understand this may come as a shock and be a bit upsetting since many of us look to our sign for guidance, whether that be on a daily basis or as a simple sense of self in the back of our minds. So now that you are soul searching to find out who you really are, I say stop! Use this curveball to think of yourself differently. Don’t look at it as losing a part of you, but as an opportunity to grow. Of course, the sign you have known as your own all this time is still yours and you should not forget it, but don’t ignore the new one. Look at the personality traits of your new sign and imagine that you could be something better by embracing these characteristics. You’re not losing a sign, but gaining a new one!
So now that you’ve accepted this new you, make it work for your wardrobe. I love wearing accessories that encompass important parts of my life (initials, numbers, symbols, etc). A necklace or earrings are much less permanent than a tattoo and just as sentimental. Zodiac signs are no exception and should be worn proudly. Now (if you are lucky) you have two signs! I think wearing your two signs together is super stylish and special! Try two necklaces with a pendant for each sign. Get several different bangles in different shapes and sizes that represent your signs and stack them up your arm. Stud earrings are affordable, so buy a pair for each sign and mix them up by wearing one of each! Flea markets always have the most amazing vintage zodiac jewelry (try Eastern Market in DC or Hell’s Kitchen Flea Market if you are in NYC). eBay is also an excellent resource to find zodiac inspired accessories.
Remember, your sign (or signs) do not define you, but can enhance who you are if you try to embody the best qualities from them. As the position of the sun and earth continue to change, so should you. Never stop evolving or revolving (as the planets do)!
Horoscopes are entertaining and insightful. I have mine emailed to me every day by astrology.com. While I don’t live by these words, I do let them inspire me and allow them to make me think. It is a small message that can make a big difference to a normal day.
