Visiting Washington DC’s landmark E Street Cinema is a treat in itself. You can eat and drink while you enjoy a variety of films from motion pictures to documentaries. Right now you can even get your fashion fix at E Street because they are showing the documentary Bill Cunningham New York a film by Richard Press.
Bill Cunningham is a photographer and writer for the New York Times Style section whose columns include On the Street and Evening Hours. He photographs all New York fashion from its superior street style to high society subjects like editor-in-chief of Vogue Anna Wintour, Brook Astor and David Rockefeller. The film follows his simple life that is so opposite of the many elite events and opulent outfits that he documents. Bill’s main form of transportation is his old school bicycle that allows him to travel the city streets and capture the magic of New York’s many fashion mavens.
This is an affordable way to add some fashion to your day. After being inspired by Bill’s biography, spend the afternoon stepping up your style by shopping the streets of DC around Metro Center and Chinatown.

East Coast Chic (ECC) began as a fashion blog in 2010. I created ECC because the diversity of style on the East Coast is inspirational and endless. ECC allows me to share my favorite fashion thoughts and spots from my headquarters in Washington, DC, as well as other trend setting states along the East Coast and beyond.
