Discount Stores Save You Dollars on Designer Attire

One great way to save money on clothes, accessories and shoes (and a great way to waste a Saturday afternoon) is to shop at discount stores like RossMarshalls and TJ Maxx. I have a Ross literally next to my condo. It is about a 5 minute walk and I will use any excuse (or no excuse at all) to spend a couple of hours there on the weekends. I have found many incredible deals from accessories to work attire to even home goods. Marshalls is my second favorite (only a 5 minute drive, which makes it another regular stop) and TJ Maxx is a treat!

I recommend when shopping at discount stores such as these, that you set aside some time and go often because the inventory changes regularly. Be patient when rifling through the many racks of clothing, because you never know what you may find and don’t want to miss a thing. Believe me you will not be disappointed when you find a structured work dress or an unbelievable pair of skinny jeans for nearly nothing. If you don’t like to spend hours searching for a great piece at a great price, then at least check out the shoe and accessories sections. It takes much less time to filter through and I guarantee you will be pleased to walk away with a totally affordable pair of Nine West heels.

These stores not only have items from the current season, but also items from past seasons. This gives you additional options other than what is in the retail stores right now. There are many classic items that last from season to season, so make sure to keep an open mind when shuffling through the endless amounts of clothing.

In DC, Marshalls is located near Columbia Heights and the Pentagon City Mall (both of these locations are metro accessible). In addition, you can find a Marshalls, Ross or TJ Maxx all over the suburbs! Remember, don’t limit yourself to one of these stores. Each store and each location of each store has a variety all its own.
