While the summer is quickly coming to a close, it is not over yet! So spend some time outdoors this weekend roaming the city streets during DC’s 11th Annual Dog Days. This sidewalk sale on steroids is held up and down U Street and throughout the streets of the surrounding this historic neighborhood. This downtown event is organized by Midcity and is held August 7 and August 8 (THIS WEEKEND)! Be sure to check them out on the web to view a list of participating retails, restaurants and more. This list makes planning your day simple by including the Dog Day deals offered by each merchant and an easy to read map that will help you create a route to hit all your must see spots.
Tons of fantastic fashion retailers are taking part like Treasury Vintage (refreshments, DJ and a $5 bargain bin) and Miss Pixies (20% of everything in the store). Restaurants are also dishing up deals like DC Noodles and Rice (10% off your meal with a receipt from a participating Dog Day retailer), Logan Tavern and Commissary DC (Happy Hours specials from 4pm-7pm on Saturday and Sunday). After lunch continue your search for sales, but don’t forget to stop for an afternoon snack at Cake Love ($2 cupcakes) and Love Café ($4 pieces of cake). These are just a few of the many participating vendors, so do not miss this hot summer event in a cool DC neighborhood.

East Coast Chic (ECC) began as a fashion blog in 2010. I created ECC because the diversity of style on the East Coast is inspirational and endless. ECC allows me to share my favorite fashion thoughts and spots from my headquarters in Washington, DC, as well as other trend setting states along the East Coast and beyond.
