Give your Hair a Break and Stay Beautiful with a Ballet Inspired Bun

Bullock in Casual Bun1 Give your Hair a Break and Stay Beautiful with a Ballet Inspired Bun Ballet is big right now with seasonal shows like the Nutcracker and the recent release of Black Swan with Natalie Portman.  Having been in dance in my younger years, I am happy to see ballet in the spotlight.  There are many fashionable reasons to love of about this graceful art form including ballet flats, tulle skirts, pastel colors and leotards.  My favorite, though, is the classic ballet bun.  You can wear your hair up in a bun when you want to be fancy for a special occasion or fresh for a regular day.

My favorite way and day to wear this updo is slightly messy on Sundays.  Your hair needs a break from blow dryers, curling irons and even shampoo/conditioner at least once a week.  Simply wet your hair while in the shower.  When ready to do your updo, pull back your hair like you are creating a ponytail.  It also helps to flip your head and brush from the back to get the bumps out from all angles.  This also helps push up the bun so it is placed towards the top of your head.  Remember, you don’t want it to high, but you want to be able to at least see it when you are looking straight on in the mirror.  Wrap your hair through the hair-tie until it is tight.  This look is for a casual Sunday so it should not be perfect.  Tuck and bobby pin if necessary.  Once up, pick at your perfect bun to loosen strands around your ears, forehead and the actual bun.

This style is perfect with or without glasses on a casual day and I like it best with v-neck.  The neckline with your hair pulled tightly back will elongate your face and make your neck go on for ages!  I also love a bun when going out, which often takes more preparation, but is well worth it.  Don’t be afraid to try this glamorous updo no matter where you go!
