The holidays are quickly approaching, which means the holiday parties are soon to start. As for what to wear to each of these merry occasions, you have done the usual holiday colors including the classic red and green. How about trying something a bit different this year for your holiday style. Try going Grinch chic!
The shade of the gross green Grinch from the children’s holiday classic How the Grinch Stole Christmas is a statement color so make sure you do it with a neutral like navy, brown or black (at least for these holiday events). Do crisp black with a pop of the bright green that the crass character is so well known for. For example, try a little black dress with a bright green sweater to stay warm or maybe even heels (I love heels in far out colors) to bring the Grinch out in you. A skirt in this sinful shade paired with a navy or even a brilliant white top. Add a silver or any metallic clutch for some additional seasonal sparkle.
Remember that the Grinch did become merry in the end, so don’t take this color to heart. However, wearing this bold color will make you feel festive even in the cold weather and unforgettable in a room full of tired traditional holiday attire. I’m not saying ditch the red and green all together, but mix it up with something truly unexpected for this year’s many seasonal soirées.

East Coast Chic (ECC) began as a fashion blog in 2010. I created ECC because the diversity of style on the East Coast is inspirational and endless. ECC allows me to share my favorite fashion thoughts and spots from my headquarters in Washington, DC, as well as other trend setting states along the East Coast and beyond.
