I often lose sunglasses by leaving on the table at a restaurant or I break them by throwing into my purse without a case. I know the solution is to stop being so lazy and put them in the appropriate place, but I have found an even more intriguing way to save sunglasses from myself – an eyeglass chain!
I know, right now, you are picturing a little old lady, which is not a bad thing because many older women are more chic than many of us. Don’t think of the eyeglass chain as elderly accessory, think of it as something that can be both practical and pretty. You can find eyeglass chains with beads and stones that look just like a necklace.
Your sunglasses will be more interesting with a chain and essentially become a piece of jewelry when you take them off and let them lay around your neck. Even match the type of chain with the era of sunglasses. If you go with ‘70s large round frames try a confetti multicolored beaded chain or if you go with Jackie O shades do a simple gold or silver chain with a couple thoughtfully placed standout beads. I’m also thinking how perfect the chain would be at work with a pair of thick framed everyday glasses worn with a blouse and pencil skirt ensemble. This will complete the ultimate sexy librarian look.
See Hollowing Moon Jewelry on Etsy for beautifully beaded eyeglass chains or even go basic silver or gold which you can get really cheap really anywhere.

East Coast Chic (ECC) began as a fashion blog in 2010. I created ECC because the diversity of style on the East Coast is inspirational and endless. ECC allows me to share my favorite fashion thoughts and spots from my headquarters in Washington, DC, as well as other trend setting states along the East Coast and beyond.
