G2C10 See DC’s IT leaders go from Geek 2 Chic at Bloomingdale’s Chevy ChaseBe at Bloomingdale’s in Chevy Chase on Tuesday, November 8 (6:30-8:00pm) for a high-tech, high-end fashion event.  Bloomingdale’s and Microsoft present Geek 2 Chic, a men’s only fashion show featuring technology leaders from the public and private sector.

Geek 2 Chic 2011 will feature 20 IT professionals from organizations including Facebook, Twitter, the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and several standout startups walking the runway in labels like Ralph Lauren, Theory, and Burberry, styled and provided by The Men’s Store at Bloomingdale’s.   This is an official event of DC’s Digital Capital Week, which runs from November 4-11.  Funds raised from the show will benefit the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) who’s mission is to provide programs that inspire young people from low-income communities to stay in school, to recognize business opportunities and to plan for successful futures. In addition, all the proceeds from ticket sales and 10% of that evening’s Bloomingdale’s purchases will be donated to NFTE.

Tickets are $45 for general admission and $75 for VIP seating and include a cocktail hour featuring the latest technology from the Microsoft Store, a formal runway show and an invitation-only after party at L2 Lounge in Georgetown co-presented by media and events company TechCocktail.com.  The Washington, D.C. runway event is sponsored by DC Modern Luxury magazine.  For more information on Geek2Chic, please contact Barbara Martin with BrandLinkDC (barbara@brandlinkdc.com).
