Shop for a Cause at the Fall 2010 District Sample Sale

DSS2010 Shop for a Cause at the Fall 2010 District Sample Sale The District Sample Sale is back in Georgetown this fall on Thursday, September 16 to bring fashion fans local designs at discount prices. You are not just shopping for you, but you are shopping to make a difference, because all the proceeds from the event go to the GW Mammovan. Not that we need an excuse to shop, but if we did this would be the perfect one!

General admission is $40 a ticket (and you absolutely want to buy in advance). The general admission ticket gets you into the venue for three hours of frenzied, but fantastic shopping from 6:30-9:30pm, along with music, drinks and appetizers. Local boutiques provide end-of-the-season, but not out of style pieces at prices that could not get any lower. The scene will be chaotic, so be prepared. Here are a couple of tips to make your shopping adventure both smooth and successful:

1) Don’t wait or hesitate! Scope out the venue and racks quick, but if you see something you want grab it immediately. I guarantee it won’t be there long.
2) There will not be much time to try on, so while you want to look fabulous, you also want to wear something that you can easily try on clothes over like tights or a light dress.
3) Have an idea of your budget, but don’t be afraid to splurge if you find a deal you can not pass up. Most of these pieces you could not afford any other time, so while you want to be aware of what you can spend, it may be worth a little more to get a quality piece that can be used for multiple occasions or seasons.

The entire evening of shopping and mingling with fellow stylish sisters will no doubt be enjoyable. What makes it better is that you can leave feeling good about finding something that makes you look good.
