A new sort of bar has opened in Georgetown where it is always happy hour and the hangovers make you look and feel healthy. Nectar Skin Bar (1633 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington, DC 20007) is a luxurious spa with innovative products and services. Visit Nectar Saturday, July 16 (11am-4pm) for their Garden Beauty Party. Enjoy refreshments while you tour the spa, receive mini-treatments and sample products.
The spa was brought to DC by owners Brian and Amy Thomas, who felt there was a need in the area for the type of body+beauty experience that Nectar brings (the Thomas’ also own Ipsa For Hair next door). A bright open entrance filled with beauty products from around the world greets you allowing you to browse before or after your treatment. Owner, Brian Thomas, said that while you may not recognize many of the product names, they are all there for a reason. The selection is assembled with the best of the best skin care and makeup lines available (Darphin, Paul & Joe Beaute, Becca Cosmetics, Butter London, Comfort Zone, GlamGlow, etc). Brian shared that while his wife was pregnant, Amy received an amazing product as a gift that she knew they had to carry.
As you continue through the space, you find a makeup counter and manicure station. A few steps further and you end up on a patio in the back where they actually hold treatments (hence the garden party)! Back indoors and upstairs is a throne-like pedicure station that you won’t want to leave and a treatment room so calming just the memory will keep you stress free.
The spa offers your usual treatments like manis and pedis, facials, waxing and more in a not so common way. Some of the spa’s not so normal and extra special treatments include oxygen infusion facials, the chocolate sun organic sunless tan and Nectar is the exclusive DC spa offering the Lashdip (no mascara for up to 6 months).
Whether you are a spanatic or a casual customer, you will be relaxed while at Nectar and rejuvenated when you leave.

East Coast Chic (ECC) began as a fashion blog in 2010. I created ECC because the diversity of style on the East Coast is inspirational and endless. ECC allows me to share my favorite fashion thoughts and spots from my headquarters in Washington, DC, as well as other trend setting states along the East Coast and beyond.
