ECC has always been a fan of overalls. Look back to one of my early posts Overalls: For the Farm and For Me! Overalls are a serious style statement when worn just right, but can easily go all wrong as well. It comes down to the proportions, just like with everything else. Most overalls are meant to fit loose, but they should not be overly baggy. Because overalls are loose, you need to wear with something quite fitted underneath. I just found an amazing and interesting pair of overalls that I must share with you all!
During my recent trip to NYC I stopped by the Urban Outfitters Midtown East location on 3rd Ave between East 59th and 60th (999 3rd Avenue, New York, NY 10022). While there are many UOs in NYC, I have had the most luck here, so I stop whenever in the area. This is the perfect time to emphasize that just because you are in NYC doesn’t mean you shouldn’t shop at the usual chain stores. While they, of course, should not be the only places you shop, NYC stores have the largest selection and often carry items other areas never get. Plus, sale items are different in every store so you never know what you may find.
Anyways, this 3rd Ave UO stop was just as successful this time as those in the past! I found these amazing BDG Low-Slung Overalls. These overalls are more stylish with cropped, fitted bottoms, which are not a usual characteristic of overalls. The suspender-like straps also give these overalls a lighter overall (get it!) feel. If you have a short torso like me the straps unsnap and can be tied tighter to pull the front bib up a bit (I actually think this is cuter than using the snaps at all). These overalls are on sale online for $49.99, but I found mine in store for $29.99 (originally $79). Wherever you purchase, they are sure to become a go to piece for summer, fall and seasons to come.
UO also has on sale shortall options including the BDG Denim Overalls for $39.99 (originally $59)
and Thistlepearl Shortall Romper for only $24.99 (originally $69).

East Coast Chic (ECC) began as a fashion blog in 2010. I created ECC because the diversity of style on the East Coast is inspirational and endless. ECC allows me to share my favorite fashion thoughts and spots from my headquarters in Washington, DC, as well as other trend setting states along the East Coast and beyond.
