Shopping at vintage and consignment shops is a great way to find out of the ordinary items. Shopping in New York is an adventure in itself. So shopping at vintage and consignment shops in New York is an unrivaled experience that you do not want to miss.
Being the fashion capitol of the world, New York has some of the most fashion forward residents. The contents of these consignment shops are filled with gently used designer clothing that come from the closets of the wealthy, most high-profile women on the island of Manhattan.
Some of my favorites on the Upper East Side are Encore Premier Consignment Shop (Encore was a regular drop off for Jackie Kennedy Onassis), Michael’s Consignment Shop for Women and BIS Designer Resale. You will feel as though you have walked into Carry Bradshaw’s closet when you see the designer original creations throughout the shops. Iconic designers such as Chanel, Versace, Dior and more fill the racks and it is simply a treat to be surrounded by such quality threads. While some pieces are still more than most can afford, there are other second hand items from high fashion designers such as Diane Von Furstenberg and Tory Burch that would not otherwise be accessible to the majority. The inventory and selection in the shops is ever changing, which makes for a new experience every time you visit.

East Coast Chic (ECC) began as a fashion blog in 2010. I created ECC because the diversity of style on the East Coast is inspirational and endless. ECC allows me to share my favorite fashion thoughts and spots from my headquarters in Washington, DC, as well as other trend setting states along the East Coast and beyond.
