Fell’s Point in Baltimore always exciting while remaining quaint and comfortable covered in cobblestone on the Chesapeake. Some shopping is a bit spendy, but on South Broadway you will find a gem of a shop waiting for you to enter at your own risk.
Killer Trash (602 South Broadway, Baltimore, MD 21231) is a funky, tiny vintage shop that people often speak of only experience when they need costumes for Halloween or theme parties. It is the PERFECT place to find old prom dresses, tutus galore and anything else from any era you need to complete your costume. However, do not limit yourself to visiting once a year! There are many vintage items here that can be worn on a daily basis.
A bit gaudy from the outside, you will enter a small space packed full, while keeping with the gaudy theme on the interior. While there are many racks to explore on the floor, there is more hanging up high. The best part is that Killer Trash is so affordable with most items under $20 (informal sales will save even more if you happen in on the right day).
A tip while shopping at this or other vintage shops is to wear something you can easily try items on over. There is not a lot of space or privacy in the dressing room, but that shouldn’t matter if you wear a plain tee or tank, tights or skinny jeans. Just slip over your clothes in the middle of the store. The atmosphere is that laid back and the staff will help you determine whether something looks right or wrong. Don’t you love honest sales people!
It is important to explore different outlets for finding fashion, especially with so many options like this available on the East Coast. What you find at Killer Trash will be worth it whether coming from the District, Virginia or wherever you are in Maryland. So whether now or in October, just make sure to stop by!

East Coast Chic (ECC) began as a fashion blog in 2010. I created ECC because the diversity of style on the East Coast is inspirational and endless. ECC allows me to share my favorite fashion thoughts and spots from my headquarters in Washington, DC, as well as other trend setting states along the East Coast and beyond.

I went to Baltimore on a trip my sophomore year of college with a class called Visionary Art, mainly to see the American Visionary Art Museum. We took Amtrak from Cincinatti, and stayed right on the bay in a really expensive hotel. I remember most fondly taking a water taxi to Fell’s Point and purchasing a BCBG dress in one of the shops there. I loved shopping there, and I have always wanted to go back.
Hello Steph!
Thanks for your comment! Fell’s Point and Baltimore in general has some amazing shopping! I’m so glad you were able to experience that first hand! Hope you someday get a chance to make it back to the area and, hopefully, do some more shopping!
